NBC/WSJ Poll: Trump and Carson Lead GOP; Clinton Loses Ground
Source: NBC
Donald Trump and Ben Carson are running neck and neck in the national Republican presidential horserace, while Carly Fiorina is now tied for third place with Marco Rubio, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
And on the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton has lost ground to Bernie Sanders she leads him by just seven points with Joe Biden in the race, and 15 points without the vice president. That's down from Clinton's 34-point lead over Sanders in July and her whopping 60-point lead in June.
In the GOP race, Trump is the first choice of 21 percent of Republican primary voters followed by Carson at 20 percent and Rubio and Fiorina tied at 11 percent each.
Jeb Bush, meanwhile, is at 7 percent, John Kasich at 6 percent and Ted Cruz at 5 percent. No other Republican gets more than 3 percent.

(22,000 posts)I have to wonder if next month she'll be back under 10% on a regular basis in polls. Only two of the turds have dropped out. I have to wonder when we'll see more take a swan dive off the stage.

(6,994 posts)Maybe just enough to say they conducted a poll....
The NBC/WSJ poll was conducted Sept. 20-24 of 256 Democratic voters (which has a margin of error of plus-minus 6.1 percentage points) and 230 GOP primary voters (plus-minus 6.5 percentage points). The rest of the poll will be released Monday.

(32,062 posts)are on the crash & burn tour. I think you're correct that next up is Kasich/Rubio. That is the most logical line-up against Clinton/Castro (although I am still working hard to put Bernie in that slot).

(764 posts)Got no idea about the Dems though as Joe still holding everyone in limbo. In the end though I just cannot see the repubs winning as we as a society grow and change and become wiser but the conservative repubs cant so they are looking crazier than ever.

(802 posts)These poll numbers mean that 41% of Republican Primary voters think that Donald Trump or Ben Carson would make a good President. Proof of how selfish, paranoid and uninformed the electorate is. Again, frightening!

(802 posts)But just because I am fed up, I would never vote for someone like Sarah Palin which is who I compare Trump to.

(5,557 posts)My republican friends and family are very fed up with their party leadership and don't know where to turn. They don't want the pub party insider but won't cross over to the light side because of one 'dealbreaker' issue or another. (It depends on the individual. Usually guns or gays, but sometimes farm subsidies or business taxes. Rarely religion or abortion surprisingly.)

(24,979 posts)Would you be reassured if it were one of the others? In your opinion, which of the candidates should any percent of the Republican primary electorate choose as superior to Trump or Carson?

(802 posts)But besides Huckabee, they are the most openly hostile. Don't get me wrong, they are all bad for America, but to think that so many people would support someone like Trump is unbelievable. He is the epitome of the Ugly American.

(24,979 posts)Literally, by the way. Trump has participated in WWE shows. It is unfortunate that this party should even still exist as a national force, but it's an important stage in its degeneration and hopefully collapse that none of their actual politicians can even crack double digits in the opinion polls. The current top three are a reality show clown who is definitely more hated than liked in the general population, some whacked-out Christianoid brain surgeon, and a famously failed CEO -- all obvious sociopaths, con people, frauds, mentally ill individuals. And I doubt Huckabee is the most openly hostile - you're forgetting Santorum and Cruz.

(802 posts)I really hope you are right and this is the continuation of the implosion of the Republican Party. I am so tired of these guys and find it hard that they have a significant voice during this pre-election clown show! LOL! I did not know that Trump was a professional wrestling performer. It fits though!

Bernie is over 30% in national poll.that should be big news here.with biden in he gets 35%
with biden out he is up to 38%
noone could have predicted this when Bernie got In.
I am thrilled with how bernie is doing.with or without Biden In race he is doing better than
Obama was at this point in 2007.and we got to see Obama in debates back then.

(28 posts)Now that is really something that changed that would be good for democrats. Would be great to hear our side discuss the fight against the republicans more rather that constantly hammering Hillary. Bernie deserves A good look for the nomination as does Hillary but I feel the discussion here is very negative on Hillary MOST OF THE TIME.. Republicans don't have to indict us when we are doing it ourselves!

(5,402 posts)While I am sure we would like for headlines to be good for Democrats, news editors are trying to bring in readers.
Hillary is the person responsible for her headlines. It's one of the reasons she is unfit to lead this country, much less deserve the nomination.

(141 posts)clown car of the GOP never fails to entertain. Too bad no real Republicans are on board, just these pathetic caricatures pretending not to be wholly bought and paid for lapdogs of the "Corporate Citizens".
These losers are guaranteeing a Dem president for the foreseeable future.
