Draft Biden group circulates pro-Joe memo to DNC members
Source: Politico
Ahead of the Democratic National Committee summer meeting in Minneapolis later this week, the Draft Biden campaign is circulating a memo to DNC members and party leaders, asking them to keep an open mind about a possible presidential run for Joe Biden.
In the two-page memo, titled, The Case for Joe Biden, a senior adviser to the group, Josh Alcorn, writes, Our ask for you today is not financial: we are asking you to keep an open mind and consider a Biden candidacy. Our country, the Democratic Party, and yes, the Vice President deserves nothing less. The more you consider it, the more sense it makes.
The letter was sent five days before all five declared Democratic presidential candidates are set to make their case to party leaders and superdelegates at the DNC gathering. Hillary Clinton is speaking at the meeting on Friday before heading back to the Hamptons, where she has been vacationing and attending fundraisers. Biden is not scheduled to attend the meeting.
Clinton supporters stressed the importance of the audience for the Democratic front-runner, who in 2008 won the popular vote but did not win enough delegates to win her partys nomination.

Vice President Joe Biden plans to skip the summer Democratic National Committee meeting this week, and by extension, the chance to address its members ahead of his potential third presidential run, according to Politico.
A committee official confirmed to Politico on Sunday night that the five confirmed Democratic candidates will be at the Minneapolis gathering, which is set to begin Thursday, but Biden has not accepted his open invitation.
The president and vice president always have an open invitation for DNC meetings. He would of course be invited as a candidate if he were to become one, a DNC official told Politico.
This comes after reports that Biden returned to Washington to meet with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) while contemplating the viability of a presidential run.

(92,409 posts)were not very good. He makes a lot gaffs, and while some of us may consider that "cute or human", it won't go over well.
While I am sure there are Biden supporters who want him in the race, I also believe there is a right wing movement to subtlety, or not so subtlety to encourage him to get into the race. On Huffington post they just had this headline:
"Joe Biden Worried Hillary Clinton Isn't Credible On Income Inequality"

Really? Wonder where this is coming from/
The fact is, if income inequality is so important to him, then he should jump behind Bernie, whose entire career has been built on that.
His record is also very inconsistent. He was for the Viet Nam war, against the first gulf war, for the second gulf war as an example, and frankly, his comments that he wasn't for the raid that got bin Laden, really makes me question his judgement.
I know there are those who disagree with me, but I have no doubt that Obama had verifiable intelligence where bin Laden was, and I also suspect they were working with the Pakistani government, since they didn't seem to offer much criticism by our "raid".
The republicans would love Biden to enter the race. Anything they believe will divide the Democrats is to their advantage. I also believe that the republicans, because of their positions on gender issues, do not want to run against Hillary, and that is why the media has been all over the place trying to give the impression that her campaign is falling apart, which it isn't

In fact, it hardly matters who the Dems nominate. Whoever it is will crush the Republicans once again. That's simply the new American demographic.

(14,093 posts)Anyone who can go from an approval in the 60 to in the 30s in less than a year is in bad shape.
Her campaign is incompetent. At worst, she's guilty of wrongdoing on the email thing. At best, she's bungled the pr on it and made herself look guilty.
Either way, she's damaged goods and doesn't have the ability to fight back.

(92,409 posts)women, and they also know that Hillary would be the most formidable candidate. It is not a coincidence that the republicans have been throwing Benghazi and the pseudo email garbage out there with the help of the MSM. They are doing everything to try and divide the Democrats
