Scott Walker’s chief of staff quits amid plummeting poll numbers
Source: Wisconsin Gazette
Scott Walkers longtime chief of staff Eric Schutt is stepping down, the governors office announced.
Schutt is leaving to pursue other opportunities and to spend more time with family, Walkers office said in a statement. It did not say what those opportunities are.
Walkers campaign has suffered from declining poll numbers, a weak performance in the first GOP presidential debate, ongoing scandals, and growing national awareness of his economic failures as governor. A recent Marquette University Law School poll found Walker losing to Hillary Clinton among Wisconsin voters in a theoretical matchup. The poll also showed Walkers favorability rating falling below 40 percent for the first time. Schutt played a key role in helping pass Walkers three state budgets and his legislation repealing collective bargaining for most public employees.
Schutts replacement effective Sept. 4 will be Rich Zipperer, who had been deputy chief of staff since 2012.

(2,707 posts)I'm still torn on who would be easier to beat; Walker or Bush.
IMHO. Walker had gone hard to the right. well, guess Bush has also but seems he has more of the Party establishment behind even with the name Bush. But Woonker is pushing hard. I would not count him out.

(10,500 posts)the presidency, he will still lose Wisconsin.
The people in his home state have to live under him and they know better than anyone just what a terrible president he would be.

(24,720 posts)Walker probably hung up because since he likes to lie he probably said its probably a busy signal, since he doesn't like to pay bills that he has generated, and the phone my be tapped because of his criminality--------------------what a Nixonite hypocrite.
I can't wait for him to announce that he is withdrawing-------------that would be sweet, him and Christie

(24,720 posts)that while Christie was in Iowa he was doing the following:
"He will participate in the Des Moines Register's Soap Box, act as an honorary chef at the Iowa Pork Tent, tour the state fair with Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds, and attend several private meetings."
Whats really classic he will be do the following----------- ACT as an honorary chef in the PORK TENT and be in or standing on a stage called the Soap box.
While his state has had nine down grades in bond ratings and just lost 13,000 jobs in July.

In fact the candidates would and will absolutely fall off there pious chairs if he was a moderator, except for maybe one (SANDER'S) ------------------he pull's no punches and get's to the ISSUES, that the voters truly need to understand and what is at stake in this election---------------just like he did with Judith Miller-----humiliated-----------------Tucker Carlson and Paul Begala-----------------humiliated -------- and others that went around spewing BS.
I can just see Stewart now with his blue paper writing, pen in left hand, and on it with Christie sitting on the other side and Stewart drawing a "PORK CHOP" and below it honorary chef and saying something like -------------are you really a honorary chef of PORK CHOPS, why aren't you in my state working on ISSUES.
Yes, he is going to be missed

Although he won't likely get to the general election where black and other people of color votes matter, that quote will come back to haunt him.
