ISIS executes 19 women in Mosul 'for refusing to take part in sexual jihad'

Source: Times of India

The ISIS militant group has executed 19 women in its Iraqi stronghold of Mosul for refusing to have sex with fighters, a Kurdish official has claimed.

Said Mimousini, a spokesperson for the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), said that ISIS's treatment of women and dealings with money were proving to be increasingly divisive within the organisation's own ranks.

The official said that the executions, which could not be independently verified, took place during the weekend of the 1 and 2 August.

"ISIS (has) executed 19 women in the city of Mosul during the past two days," he told Iraqi News on Monday. "The penalty decision came on the background of the refusal to participate in the practice of sexual jihad."

succeeding with rebuilding our economy from their Trickle Down Disaster (TTD). This directly hurt millions of Americans, but that was okay as far as the GOP was concerned. It would help them regain WH. It didn't work, but not for trying. They blocked every jobs bill proposed by Obama except the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which I believe 3 Republicans voted for. They threatened a default on the U.S. debt, and forced the closure of the government and threatened a second closure. All this scared employers who, as a result, were very wary of hiring back full time permanent workers. They used more overtime and part-timers. Since the TTD, companies have been holding large hoards of cash, rather than hire back workers and commit to their business objectives. They weren't confident that the Republicans wouldn't kill the recovery so they held onto profits and held off hiring back full time people. THis is why so many people say they haven't experienced the recovery.

I think if someone makes a comparitive statement saying some group is 'like' another, it does not mean that he is saying the one group is identical to the other. This does not mean, TP-GOPers must all grow beards and cut off heretics heads for the comparitive statement to be meaningful. WE are all, I believe, beyond the age of 3 or 4 years and therefore should be beyond a simple, literal interpretation of words spoken.

When you hear somebody say: "Man that guy is a bastard."

You wouldn't say (if knowledgeable of the facts pertaining), "Well, I happen to know his mother was married when she gave birth to him. I don't know why you would say such a thing!"

There is not a shred of difference other than tactics between Islamic terrorist fringes and the Christian terrorist fringes. Since beheadings are frowned on locally vile accusations by right wing have to suffice with an occasional lone wolf attack from time to time. If not actual support the Republican Conservative media spin certainly does not acknowledge the environment they create that feeds domestic hate. As to the accuracy of this story from an Indian source will either be verified or not. As to ISIS there are plenty of well documented atrocities to react. One could enlist wait and see which new war comes along, or if they had the skills head out a a personal mission. Bottom line ISIS would not exist if it were not for Republican neocons. Domestic terrorism and hate gets its biggest boost from Republican right wing media. Investigate it may not be too late to get in the grinder there is a stage full of Republican contenders willing to help out.

Not just any old garden variety but Islamic and the threat is there is nothing you can do about it other than be horrified. When you kill those who commit such acts you perpetuate the recruitment of replacements. My point is that those who sell fear to buy your gun, bomb the enemy, hate someone for religious beliefs, target people by gender are not that different from those who commit displays of mass killing. Bottom line it is good for someone's business. Although both parties in America engage in such fear mongering one seems bound and determined to corner the market. It is a gruesome supply and demand.

Now the terrible horrors perpetrated in what remains of Iraq and Syria an area which AMERICAN REPUBLICANS broke seems to be something the neighborhood does not want to do anything about. So let us send some more American boots invest American lives, rearm Iraqi's who then surrender those weapons and perpetuate mistakes.

As to putting American lives first, I AM GUILTY as a sovereign nation we are in our rights doing something about that. The Comfort Women and Japan’s War on Truth
By MINDY KOTLER
NOV. 14, 2014

<snip>

We know of Lieutenant Nakasone’s role in setting up a comfort station thanks to his 1978 memoir, “Commander of 3,000 Men at Age 23.” At that time, such accounts were relatively commonplace and uncontroversial — and no obstacle to a political career. From 1982 to 1987, Mr. Nakasone was the prime minister of Japan.

<snip>

The government of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is engaged in an all-out effort to portray the historical record as a tissue of lies designed to discredit the nation. Mr. Abe’s administration denies that imperial Japan ran a system of human trafficking and coerced prostitution, implying that comfort women were simply camp-following prostitutes.

The latest move came at the end of October when, with no intended irony, the ruling Liberal Democratic Party appointed Mr. Nakasone’s own son, former Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone, to chair a commission established to “consider concrete measures to restore Japan’s honor with regard to the comfort women issue.”

The official narrative in Japan is fast becoming detached from reality, as it seeks to cast the Japanese people — rather than the comfort women of the Asia-Pacific theater — as the victims of this story. The Abe administration sees this historical revision as integral to restoring Japan’s imperial wartime honor and modern-day national pride. But the broader effect of the campaign has been to cause Japan to back away from international efforts against human rights abuses and to weaken its desire to be seen as a responsible partner in prosecuting possible war crimes.

<snip>

The grave truth about the Abe administration’s denialist obsession is that it has led Japan not only to question Ms. Coomaraswamy’s report, but also to challenge the United Nations’ reporting on more recent and unrelated war crimes, and to dismiss the testimony of their victims. In March, Japan became the only Group of 7 country to withhold support from a United Nations investigation into possible war crimes in Sri Lanka, when it abstained from voting to authorize the inquiry. (Canada is not a member of the Human Rights Council but issued a statement backing the probe.) During an official visit, the parliamentary vice minister for foreign affairs, Seiji Kihara, told Sri Lanka’s president, “We are not ready to accept biased reports prepared by international bodies.”

Something in the back of my mind says that if the rest of the story were told, we'd be even more outraged. Both at IS and its quasi-defenders.

At the same time, there'd be fewer people outraged because it would reveal fault lines present in much of Islam, sharpened and highlighted in the case of the IS, but which make us profoundly uncomfortable. Slamming IS is one thing, but to possibly cast aspersions on much of Islam is beyond the pale.
