Bill Cosby Ordered To Give Deposition On 1974 Assault Claim
Source: International Business Times
Bill Cosby has been ordered to give a sworn deposition in a lawsuit alleging that he sexually abused a 15-year-old girl at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles in 1974.
The order, entered by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Tuesday and made public on Wednesday evening, according to Reuters, states that Cosby will submit to questions under oath from the lawyer of his accuser, Judy Huth, on Oct. 9, and that she will answer questions from his attorneys on Oct. 15.
Cosby's lawyers had sought to compel Huth to give her deposition before the comedian, but the judge sided with Huth in requiring Cosby to go first.
"We are pleased that we will now be able to move ahead without further delay on Ms. Huths case and we look forward to taking Mr. Cosbys deposition on Oct. 9," said Gloria Allred, who is representing Huth and several others of Cosby's accusers, LAist reported.

Huth's complaint is one of at least four pending civil suits against Cosby stemming from such accusations.
Ms Huth is one of more than 40 women who have come forward in the past year to say that they were raped or molested by Cosby after he gave them alcohol or drugs in incidents dating back decades.

(90,705 posts)Eventually, gods willing, someone will come forward who was raped in a state that has no such legal limitations (I hope there is such a place) and then that sorry sack of shit can be brought up on criminal charges at long last.

(3,894 posts)did they even exist back then?
If the statute of limitations were to be changed now, would that be retroactive?

(3,813 posts)there would have been an investigation and charges brought or not depending on the evidence.
since there is no record of a reported rape then a rape kit if available was not used.
and no if the statute of limitations was to be changed it would not be retroactive.

I hope the lawyers of these women keep this going until the serial rapist is in prison for life.

(5,400 posts)Huth claims she and a female friend met and chatted with Cosby on the set of a movie they saw was being filmed in a suburban Los Angeles park, and that he invited them to his tennis club the following Saturday.
The suit also says the girls told Cosby they were 15- and 16-years-old when he asked their ages.
Arriving at the tennis club days later, the two girls played a drinking game with Cosby at his suggestion, and he then led them to the Playboy Mansion after they "had been served multiple alcoholic beverages."

(26,293 posts)without looking like he is lying through his teeth assuming of course it gets that far because I suspect his lawyers will now file for dismissal due to the statute of limitations if they have not done so earlier in this case.

Esp. if they're emotionally charged and relived. It's worse if they've been discussed with others.
