Poll: Chris Christie no longer top presidential primary pick of N.J. Republicans

New Jersey Republicans no longer consider Chris Christie their top choice to be the next president, with more potential primary voters supporting celebrity businessman Donald Trump than the state’s sitting governor, according to a Rutgers-Eagleton Poll released on Monday.

Nearly half of the state’s Republicans do not believe Christie would make a good president, according to the poll, which surveyed voters in the Garden State over the last week.

Just 12 percent of G.O.P. voters in New Jersey would actually cast a ballot for the two-term executive if the primary was held now. He placed second, running two points ahead of Jeb Bush and Scott Walker, and nine points behind Trump.

Ashley Koning, the assistant director of the Eagleton Center Rutgers, said the voters “remain sour about the thought of a ‘President’ Christie and don’t expect him to snag the nomination.”

“Most share the growing belief that Christie missed his chance to run for president at the height of his popularity,” Koning said.

After his joke of a presidential campaign ends, this loudmouthed jerkoff will take his rightful place in history as a political footnote and nothing more.

would kill his ego to be seated at the kids table.

But it looks like he's just barely going to squeak in at number 9 or 10.

NJ Republicans are seeing the true Christie. But I would not underestimate him. He can whip up a crowd. He can stir resentment. He can play well in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan with the "Average Joes and Janes of the World". He won't win the nomination, but he will be a contender for a while.

He is intelligent, but has a personality short circuit somewhere. There are moments of real human lucidity coming from him, but not enough to make it out of the fog of his hubris. The GOP needs more Dick Cheneys. This guy at least has a pulse.

I wonder how he will do at their debate. I would say he is the favorite to gain notice and points.
