Bernie Sanders to Host Biggest Organizing Event of 2016 So Far

Bernie Sanders is planning a massive grass roots organizing event on Wednesday evening that will include simultaneous parties in all 50 states as the upstart Democratic candidate seeks to mobilize the progressive base of the party en masse.

As of midday Wednesday, more than 100,000 people had RSVPed to participate in over 3,000 parties in houses, living rooms and coffee shops, Sanders' campaign said, making it the biggest online organizing event of the 2016 campaign.

Sanders will appear at a house party in Washington, DC, and then make remarks that will be broadcast simultaneously to all the meeting locations in the country, telling viewers how they can build a "political revolution" in the country.

"Brothers and sisters, now is not the time for thinking small, " Sanders said in Burlington on the day of his campaign launch in May, a common refrain that he is likely to repeat Wednesday night. "Now is not the time for the same-old-same-old. Now is the time for millions of working families to revitalize American democracy."
