Colo. Ed Board Members Who Pushed AP History Changes May Face Recall

Source: TPM

Three conservative members of the Jefferson County school board in Colorado may face consequences for seeking unpopular changes to the AP U.S. History course last year.

Critics of the school board on Tuesday submitted more than double the number of petition signatures needed to order recall votes for three members of the school board in the November election, according to the Denver Post.

"The message is clear, the people of Jefferson County want to hold this board majority accountable and demand a recall vote on November 3," Tina Gurdikian, one of the co-founders of Jeffco United For Action, the group that organized the petitions, said on Tuesday, according to Chalkbeat Colorado.

"They really are driving away our teachers by showing a great amount of disrespect for them," Wendy McCord, Gurdikian's co-founder at Jeffco United For Action said of the school board, according to the Associated Press. "They are dismissive of students and parents who have concerns and try to express them as well."

One or more of the usual suspects (religious groups, Koch Bros., ad nauseam) will pour massive amounts of outside money into the state to defend the con school board members and the recall will fail.

Same thing that happened with the Snot Wanker recall, GMO labeling initiatives, etc. etc. etc.

Buy enough teevee ads and you can mislead the American public into believing and supporting anything.

Hope I'm wrong.

They are also in the media and are convinced they can use TV and radio to brainwash most Americans into believing anything. And when the likes of CNN and even Fox, to a lesser degree, are still considered news as opposed to the real truth that they are just big megaphones in the hands of a few men to shout out their personal opinions on everything they and they alone consider worthy of discussion, what can be done?

Remember Ebola? Unified media hysteria scared the pants off Americans, the science was drowned out in favor of fear and hysteria. Same with ISIS, same with all the hysteria and fear injected by the media into a nation with a military larger than the next 12 nations combined.

Though, the Confederate Swastika coming down so fast in the face of a massive social media storm must be really upsetting the traditional Mass Control Algorythym.

In many ways the "public" is being played. Whack a symbol here, 2 more pop up over there with a vengeance.

The media love these carnivals (meat eating) and promotes the dissent. Used to be I could trust some "liberal" outlets but I guess they are beholden to their monied stakeholders.
