Walker hits Clinton over union ties
Source: The Hill
By Jesse Byrnes
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker criticized Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton on Tuesday for favoring big-labor special interests.
In an op-ed for The Des Moines Register, the GOP presidential candidate said that Clinton's campaign has been defined by closed-door meetings and carefully choreographed events designed to shield her from voters.
Much of Clintons time was spent in meetings with union bosses, Walker said, referring to Clinton's visit to the Hawkeye State over the weekend. The fact that Clinton is shunning everyday Iowans in favor of big-labor special interests sends a clear message about where her true loyalties lie.
Walker, who sits atop a GOP field of more than a dozen candidates in the early voting state of Iowa based on recent polls, has regularly invoked his fights with labor unions during his tenure in Wisconsin.

(5,191 posts)A tool of "labor interests?" Hey Scott: You re the biggest tool (aka Butt Boy) of a special interest: Charles and David Koch.
Republicans love the "free market."Here a thought: If owners can organize their capital, why can't workers organize their labor? .

(2,479 posts)Did he mean Bernie Sanders? Because Hillary Clinton don't care about labor unions, or she'd have taken a definitive stand on the TPP, against it.
Labor unions were screaming for her to take a stand, and she didn't. Another trade agreement hole, poked in the Economic bucket.

Oh wait!
Now I get it, you were trying to hi-jack the thread into another "Go Bernie" discussion. Stupid me. Sometimes I forget how insufferable Sanders people can be.

(18,636 posts)...if I ever go to a pro-Bernie thread and start trashing him. It won't happen though, because I think that would be rude and incendiary.
Frankly, I'm not much of a Hillary fan, but I think Sanders is somewhat to the left of me and most Americans. Though that makes me the democrat that Bernie supporters deny exists, I'm just fed up with the horrible comments here mostly directed to Ms Clinton for not being liberal enough, as if that's a national deal breaker. It isn't.
The fact is, the vast middle in America wants a strong moderate candidate as usual, someone who promises to kick the can down the road. Though that doesn't make for a good campaign slogan, there's a lot to be said for a "do no harm" president. If the Democratic Party can't find one, the GOP will, and it won't be Trump, Cruz, or Walker. I fear they'll nominate a sane candidate like Kasich and Sanders will go down like McGovern.

To date, no TPP agreement has been finalized for review.

Of course, in the eyes of republicans it's akin to ties to organized crime, but the end result of the statement comes off as lunacy.

(1,016 posts)The RW media has demonized unions and has convinced a lot of working poor that the union is out to rip you off to support union thugs' high salaries. Yet union shops have the best wages, benefits, and working conditions.
