Judge Halts Depositions For Bill And Hillary Clinton

Source: Politico

A federal judge has blocked a conservative activist's plans to force presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton to testify in depositions stemming from a lawsuit claiming the Clinton Foundation operated as a racketeering enterprise shaking down donors in exchange for official favors.

U.S. District Court Judge Donald Middlebrooks issued an order Tuesday barring legal gadfly Larry Klayman from proceeding with his plans to conduct videotaped depositions of the Clintons in Washington next week. Middlebrooks's order (posted here) does not offer a reason for the ruling.

Lawyers for the Clintons and for the foundation have asked Middlebrooks to toss out the case and to halt discovery while he considers whether the lawsuit should be dismissed. The Clinton lawyers contend Klayman has a history of filing meritless lawsuits and that he should not be allowed to demand evidence in connection with a case that is likely to be dismissed.

Klayman's lawsuit alleges that Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state interfered with responses to Freedom of Information Act requests he filed and that the Clintons used the system to obscure a scheme to demand to trade official favors for donations to the Clinton Foundation.

Their only fault? They rained on the GOP parade of 16 years of repuke rule under which they could have appointed 7 scalias to SCOTUS.

Thanks to Bill Clinton's presidency (and then Obama's), we have some liberal leaning rulings lately.

Now Hillary is our best chance to have 16 years of democratic rule and 7 liberal justices on SCOTUS (Alito and Roberts are too young to croak in the next 16 years.)

Over the past several decades, the country has repeatedly elected centrists except the 1980 and 2004 elections where there were extenuating circumstances. Too far left or too far right is poison in the race for independents.

HRC is immune from attacks because any attack on her is "seen that already" ... not so with Bernie .. especially when the mantra os socialist is repeated over and over and over.

If his strategy can work well enough to actually defeat Hillary, who I view as the only political heavyweight in the entire 2016 race, then I believe that he can win the GE.

But if not, in the GE , the Republicans have no credibility, and they will have so much less after the Clown Car tours the nation.

In Bill's final year we had a $236 billion dollar surplus......The Bush-Gore Debates were over how to spend the trillions in surpluses. Bush did figure it out, as he left office we had a $1.3 trillion dollar deficit and we were losing 700,000 jobs a month.....how could you put possibly put Repubs back in charge?........I swear that this TV ad writes itself.

The country includes 66% who are NOT democrats

If we want our side to win POTUS, we need to offer the 66% a centrist and not a radical left socialist no matter how endearing he may be to us. If we don't do it, the other side will offer a centrist like Jeb Bush or Kasich and will WIN.

You do want a democrat to win the White House don't you?

A blast from the past if there ever was one. That RW nut job is like a pitbull with a bone. He has filed dozens of lawsuits against the Clintons and not won one. Most of them get thrown out of court.
