Walker: 'Very Possible' war with Iran on Inauguration Day

Source: Huffington Post

WASHINGTON -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) said over the weekend that the next president of the United States needed to be prepared to take aggressive military action on their very first day in office, including against Iran.

(...)

“One thing that I won’t do is just say, as a candidate, ‘I’m going to tear up the agreement on the first day,’” Bush said in Nevada on Thursday. First, said Bush, he needs to have his team in place. "That’s great, that sounds great but maybe you ought to check in with your allies first, maybe you ought to appoint a secretary of state, maybe secretary of defense, you might want to have your team in place, before you take an act like that.”

Asked about Bush's remarks on Saturday, Walker argued -- without mentioning Iran directly -- that a president ought to be ready to take action from the moment they step foot into the Oval Office.

"He may have his opinion. I believe that a president shouldn't wait to act until they put a cabinet together or an extended period of time, I believe they should be prepared to act on the very first day they take office," he said. "It's very possible, God forbid that this would happen, but very possible, that the next president could be called to take aggressive actions, including military actions, on their very first day in office."

There are a lot of racists here- we just don't talk about it because it isn't polite and it offends our Scandinavian sensibilities. Anyway, he and his handlers are very good at dog whistle politics. Scott will keep those brown-skinned takers in Milwaukee from stealing what little is left of our incomes and savings. That and the fact that our last Democratic governor was no great shakes and left the state in a pretty big financial hole. But people are finally waking up- too little, too late I know.

Also, you seem to be assuming that it was a "fair" election.

In fact, there is evidence that it was NOT a "fair election"

I was getting ready to look for some of this. I don't live there, but I have a lot of family there. They complained about the unfair election, the vote tampering.

Our nominee needs to be ready for this. I am not going to argue about WHO our nominee will be - just that he or she needs to fight this, before and after the vote count. They will try to steal it, whether it is Scottie, or Jebbie, or someone else. We need someone who will show more backbone than Gore did.

I had a disturbing conversation with my RW sister a few months ago. She thinks the answer to Middle East instability is for the US to engage war with every country (except Israel, of course). I gave her the contact info for the local recruitment office, and suggested she take her teenage sons there. Bad idea, I guess...she's still not talking to me. As usual, the clickbait headline is misleading -- as misleading as Fox News complaining about Planned Parenthood selling fetus parts? No, but in the same spirit of "Oh, look! It's someone we don't like! Let's make them look like an ass!"

He said, as the OP quoted, "It's very possible, God forbid that this would happen, but very possible, that the next president could be called to take aggressive actions, including military actions, on their very first day in office."

Did he say it's very possible that the U.S. will go to war with Iran on his first day? No, he said the CiC has to be ready at Day 1 if something happens -- a very "duh" statement if I've ever heard one. There's a big difference between the two.

I know Walker is terrible, but one doesn't need to put words in his mouth to do so. He does that just fine all on his own.

Walker has just enough brains to be dangerous, and he scares the hell out of me. I still can't quite believe that Republicans would nominate that sleepy-eyed dope, but I have absolutely no faith in any of them anymore.

We keep hearing about Koch Bros money and gerrymandering being the reasons any Republican can win an election, but it is ultimately the voters that decide.

Has American gone so totally brain dead that we elect people like this to govern our states?
Other points in question: Jeb in Fl., Sarah at the North Pole, Brownback in the land of Oz, LePage in Maine. The list goes on, but I have to go puke before I finish it.

the rest of the voters tend to not show up for non-Presidential elections. Our Gubernatorial elections in Wisconsin are always on non-Presidential years, which is a disadvantage we need to figure out how to overcome.

Superficially folksy and affable, but without a single original, creative thought in his head. We've taken to calling him Governor Howdy Doody.

Why on earth should the United States go to war against Iran? How do they threaten us? They absolutely don't threaten us in any way. They haven't been in a war of aggression against ANYONE for about 275 years. The Iraqi invasion in 1980, with American backing, began one of the most horrible wars between 2 neighboring countries of the 20th century. Neither country got anything out of it except death.

They're not a military threat to anyone in the region - their military is a modest one and is principally formed around defense. They do provide resources to a couple of quasi-government-paramilitary organizations in the region. Well, that's complicated - Saudi Arabia billionaires fund ISIL, we fund just about any paramilitary in the world that generally will further our goals in a particular region, as well as Israel, which engages in terrorism and assassination as a matter of routine.

Flipping nut jobs.

But he reminds me of 'The Dead Zone' where a man awakens after 5 years in a coma and can see the future.

During a rally for a presidential candidate, Martin Sheen, Christopher Walken shakes hands with him and sees Martin as President setting off the missiles starting the next world war.

Christopher knows he needs to kill Martin to avert this apocalyptical occurrence and well...

Now I'm not saying there is ESP or anything like that but this asshat is calling for a major war the day he is sworn in as president, if their money can buy it.

After the mistakes made in Iraq, Americans will not stand for another war. And in this case, it would be American's money and men fighting a war for Israel

and Jeb is awful enough that he should never be in DC, period,
but
Never forget, this is the Koch Brothers anointed one.

and sadly, Americans often believe that no one would throw a billion dollars at a bad idea, so it must be good.

And if this happens, the Koch will literally undo not just everything FDR did, but might roll us back to the very C.S.A itself.

look here:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/04/10/1291095/-Astounding-Charles-Koch-s-1980-VP-Run-Kill-Medicare-Soc-Sec-Min-Wage-Public-Ed

Now, think of this. The Koches were too right wing for RONALD REAGAN.

say it again:

THE KOCHES WERE TOO RIGHT WING FOR RONALD REAGAN!!

and we have Scott Walker on tape trying to TOADY and KOWTOW to them like he was some INTERN!

and people will give him the button!

THE BUTTON!

and do not think the Koches would not push it, especially as it would reduce all us useless eaters and probably make them a profit!
