Walker: 'Very Possible' war with Iran on Inauguration Day
Source: Huffington Post
WASHINGTON -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) said over the weekend that the next president of the United States needed to be prepared to take aggressive military action on their very first day in office, including against Iran.
(...)
One thing that I wont do is just say, as a candidate, Im going to tear up the agreement on the first day, Bush said in Nevada on Thursday. First, said Bush, he needs to have his team in place. "Thats great, that sounds great but maybe you ought to check in with your allies first, maybe you ought to appoint a secretary of state, maybe secretary of defense, you might want to have your team in place, before you take an act like that.
Asked about Bush's remarks on Saturday, Walker argued -- without mentioning Iran directly -- that a president ought to be ready to take action from the moment they step foot into the Oval Office.
"He may have his opinion. I believe that a president shouldn't wait to act until they put a cabinet together or an extended period of time, I believe they should be prepared to act on the very first day they take office," he said. "It's very possible, God forbid that this would happen, but very possible, that the next president could be called to take aggressive actions, including military actions, on their very first day in office."

Anyway, he and his handlers are very good at dog whistle politics. Scott will keep those brown-skinned takers in Milwaukee from stealing what little is left of our incomes and savings. That and the fact that our last Democratic governor was no great shakes and left the state in a pretty big financial hole. But people are finally waking up- too little, too late I know.

Who are "they"?
Are you blaming the millions of Democrats & Independents who voted AGAINST Walker?
Also, you seem to be assuming that it was a "fair" election.
In fact, there is evidence that it was NOT a "fair election"

Our nominee needs to be ready for this. I am not going to argue about WHO our nominee will be - just that he or she needs to fight this, before and after the vote count. They will try to steal it, whether it is Scottie, or Jebbie, or someone else. We need someone who will show more backbone than Gore did.

I had a disturbing conversation with my RW sister a few months ago. She thinks the answer to Middle East instability is for the US to engage war with every country (except Israel, of course). He said, as the OP quoted, "It's very possible, God forbid that this would happen, but very possible, that the next president could be called to take aggressive actions, including military actions, on their very first day in office."
Did he say it's very possible that the U.S. will go to war with Iran on his first day? No, he said the CiC has to be ready at Day 1 if something happens -- a very "duh" statement if I've ever heard one. There's a big difference between the two.
I know Walker is terrible, but one doesn't need to put words in his mouth to do so. He does that just fine all on his own.

(1,150 posts)Why on earth should the United States go to war against Iran? How do they threaten us? They absolutely don't threaten us in any way. They haven't been in a war of aggression against ANYONE for about 275 years. The Iraqi invasion in 1980, with American backing, began one of the most horrible wars between 2 neighboring countries of the 20th century. Neither country got anything out of it except death.
They're not a military threat to anyone in the region - their military is a modest one and is principally formed around defense. They do provide resources to a couple of quasi-government-paramilitary organizations in the region. Well, that's complicated - Saudi Arabia billionaires fund ISIL, we fund just about any paramilitary in the world that generally will further our goals in a particular region, as well as Israel, which engages in terrorism and assassination as a matter of routine.
Flipping nut jobs.
