Report: Funding for a new VA hospital in Omaha unlikely until 'late 2020s'

WASHINGTON The dream of a newly constructed Omaha VA Hospital looks further away than ever, based on a report released Monday by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
It was a hope and a prayer, and it never was real, Rep. Brad Ashford told The World-Herald after reading the report.
Funding for a replacement facility isnt likely until the late 2020s according to the analysis by Booz Allen Hamilton. The consultants report also examined other options for Omahas aging medical facility for veterans that could be implemented sooner.
Half a dozen approaches were selected for particular scrutiny, with pros and cons listed for each.
