Pot shop patients sue California city over police raid

Source: AP

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Clients of a California marijuana dispensary filed a lawsuit Monday accusing police officers of excessive and unconstitutional actions during a raid last month.

The suit was filed by attorney Matthew Pappas on behalf of Sky High Holistic, a nonprofit marijuana collective, against the city of Santa Ana, Mayor Miguel Pulido and nearly a dozen other employees.

Surveillance video from the May 26 raid shows police playing darts and an officer making demeaning remarks about a woman in a wheelchair with an amputated leg.

Another officer can be seen eating what appears to be a pot-laced edible, according to the lawyer.

FULL story at link.

won't venture into Orange County (where Santa Ana is) because of problems with police.
It sounds like something unscrupulous may be going on in O.C.

O.C. is a republican stronghold, and you know where there's republicans, there's corruption. It's like 2+2=4.

I have a gazillion stories about living in Nixon and Reagan land.
I don't miss living there at all. Not one bit.

I will be following the court case closely, and I'm glad they filed it quickly. That in itself sends a message.

It may be Orange County, but it still exists within the State of California. We passed that law 20 years ago. These cops need to obey the law.

if ordered to bust the dispensary. Yes, it's the law but cops think they're above it (the law).
