Waco police chief says officers fired 12 rounds during Twin Peaks shootout

Source: Waco Tribune-Herald

Waco Police Chief Brent Stroman reported Friday that three Waco officers fired a total of 12 shots during the May 17 Twin Peaks shootout.

Stroman said 12 shell casings were fired from police rifles and found on the scene. No other law enforcement officers from other agencies fired their weapons, he said.

So far a total of 44 casings have been recovered, but Stroman said that total doesn't include any casings that remain inside revolvers that were fired. All other shells found at the scene weren't from law enforcement weapons, he said.

Stroman disputed rumors that Waco PD had snipers on the scene and said, "We did not fire indiscriminately into the crowd."

if those bikers were shooting and had lethal weapons out, firing in a shootout with other bikers, they got what they were asking for.

He also disputed rumors that Waco police had officers assigned to the area in a sniper capacity and said, “We did not fire indiscriminately into the crowd.”

If there was no "indiscriminate fire" into the crowd, then there was either no firing on the crowd or the firing was discriminate (aimed). That easily opens the door to having snipers on site.

That said, all reports so far indicate that the on-site cops were not deployed in a sniper roll.

So nine were killed and 18 injured by just 44 shots?

And this guy wants anyone ever involved in an actual firefight to believe that crap?

The Waco cops just discredit themselves over and over. I expect civil lawsuit attorneys are going to jump all over these oppressed bikers like bugs on the front of a speeding ambulance. Discovery is going to be a long bloody process. The cover-up will be uncovered and those folks still held in jail will all be able to afford shiny new Harley dealerships.
