FLDS Church fined $2 million for child labor violations

SALT LAKE CITY — The Fundamentalist LDS Church has been fined nearly $2 million for child labor violations involving hundreds of children put to work on a southern Utah pecan farm.
The U.S. Department of Labor confirmed the fine levied against the polygamous church to FOX 13 on Wednesday. The agency’s Wage Hour Division leveled the $1,964,450 fine against Paragon Contractors Corp., Brian Jessop, Dale Barlow, FLDS Bishop Lyle Jeffs and the FLDS Church, Labor Dept. spokesman Juan Rodriguez said in an email.
“DOL continues to consider other appropriate enforcement actions related to this investigation. To date, Paragon Contractors, Brian Jessop, and Dale Barlow have contested the penalty assessment,” he wrote.
The fines stem from a 2012 harvest at a Hurricane-area pecan farm where TV cameras captured hundreds of childen put to work. The federal government has alleged the children were pulled from school to participate in the harvest under orders from FLDS leaders.

The result is that there are bachelor herds, because a few stallions have monopolized all the mares. Each stallion and his sister-wives comprises a sub-herd. It's herd behavior. Old Brian Jessop was the alpha horse of his herd, so he has the most mares. I don't know about cows, but it's probably the same way.
Some nice "mares" there.
