Ricketts’ first real veto: Aid increase to families in poverty called 'unsustainable', setting up...

Source: Omaha World Herald

By Paul Hammel

LINCOLN — Gov. Pete Ricketts issued his first real veto since taking office in January, sending back a bill that would provide families in poverty their first increase in monthly assistance payments in nearly 30 years.

Ricketts, in a veto message issued late Wednesday, said that Legislative Bill 89, while “well-intentioned,” was “unsustainable.”

“LB 89 creates an ongoing and increasing liability that exceeds the amount of federal block grant funds the state receives,” the Republican governor wrote. “The bill will exhaust the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Block Grant (TANF) reserve by 2020.”

Earlier this month, Ricketts had vetoed a bill after State Sen. Galen Hadley of Kearney requested the governor to do so.

Rickets family owns the Chicago Cubs. They tried to lay off field maintenance works to save on medical ins costs etc. When it rained they figured out they needed them full time and said we are so sorry.

While at the same time the legislature is working to give a $800,000 tax break to Woodman of the World Insurance Society.

I know someone in Lincoln who worked like crazy to keep him out of office. This kind of crap is what she was worried about.

door in Kansas they have a governor who is turning the state in a third rate failed libertarian state--gutting pensions they don't need any stinking pensions put them on the food stamp program that he's gutting and cutting, education, 230 million dollar deficit, but he gave the KOCH's there tax breaks.
And then he has a show and tell at three catholic school's on his new bill attacking the rights of women when it comes to health care---great place, just like China.

In Missouri you have a state senator attacking people on food stamps for taking there snap food dollars and buying trips on cruise lines and filet mignon--right---- like living off three hundred dollar's a mouth is going to get you on the Riverboat Queen down to Branson anytime soon.

And now in Nebraska the same state which is under siege because the courts there says the citizens have no right to property for the Keystone debacle waiting to happen there, the only thing stopping this is the presidents veto on a foreign business creating there own mini TPP situation.
And then this right wing twit says people don't need any stinking food, let me cut the ranchers and agriculture corporations (Cargill comes to mind) and the ranchers taxes

And in Wyoming, the equality state has more murders by and with gun than any other state in the Union by population comparison.

Wow-----its like a little enclave of absolute stupid, where-bye people just keep voting against there best interests to live, breath, eat, sleep and put keep putting people in that just want to gut the infrastructure of support based on taxes and pure greed.

Then if you go to South Dakota, you have a people that are the poorest in the nation and reflection of what the haves and the have not's are like in the region---look no further than the Rosebud Indian Reservation.

And if you want to leave the state and go next door to any of the above statess its just as bad----amazing
