Santorum Moves Towards Another Presidential Bid

Source: PoliticalWire

Rick Santorum “has set up a testing the waters account in anticipation of a possible 2016 presidential bid,” CBS News reports.

“The account allows Santorum, a Republican who ran for president in 2012, to raise and spend money under the same caps governing an actual campaign committee ($2,700 for individual donors, and $5,000 for couples.) Unlike a campaign committee, though, a testing the waters account does not have to disclose its finances.”

Another latter-day Harold Stassen.

Presidential candidate[edit]
Stassen was later best known for being a perennial candidate for the Republican Party nomination for President of the United States, seeking it 10 times between 1940 and 2000 (1940, 1944, 1948, 1952, 1964, 1968, 1980, 1984, 1988, and 1992). He never won the Republican nomination, much less the presidency; in fact, after 1952, he never even came close, but continued to campaign actively and seriously for President until just a year before his death.

Harold Stassen became a national joke. For awhile I thought ron paul was the new Harold Stassen - google-eyed, addle-brained, out-to-lunch, out there waging a hopeless campaign that would never gain a national majority - mainly because that whole mindset behind it will never gain a national majority. ron paul was always gonna be a footnote. Always gonna be a joke. Never gonna be taken that seriously, except by other google-eyed, addle-brained out-to-lunchers like him. Just as Harold Stassen was years earlier. The "Oh. HIM again" candidate. The "he's BAAAAAAAAAAAACK" candidate. The "Oh, forcryingoutloud, HIM AGAIN?????" candidate.

I first heard about Harold Stassen in "Mad" magazine, when I was a kid. In one of the cartoons. One of the characters made the comment - "sure, just like I believe Harold Stassen will be President some day." And that made me curious. "Hmm... that's quite a one-liner. Who is this Harold Stassen and why is he a punchline?"

Well, in the 21st Century, I would guess OUR version of Harold Stassen is rick santorum. Good for a joke, though! And I rather like the idea of some big-bucks fools squandering a lot of money on his hopeless hopes (and theirs, too).

Time to break out the good ol' "Game On" by Camille and Haley Harris....The First Love Band a.k.a. The Fabulous Fundie Sisters from the Jubilee Christian Center in Tulsa.

I'm sure it'll turn out so much better this time around. Rick's sure to take it all the way.

On edit: Don't watch this if you have a weak stomach.

The scariest thing about religious thinking is that thing where like.... the more you show something to be false, untrue or not worthwhile, the more noble and laudable is sticking to the defunct notions. Losing just means you're even more qualified and correct.

All he is doing is collecting money that he will be able to keep when he drops out. Our election system is very broken.
Santorum is a huge embarrassment to my state of Pa.

24. Imagine him vs Hillary!! Here's a good quote to remember:

Apr 2015
“It has been my experience that when dealing with females, you need to treat them as though they have a mental disorder… especially those that are constantly seeking equality in the workplace, the military, and in the home. Women need to know their place and need to know when it is okay for them to speak. They were put on this earth for two reasons, and two reasons alone: taking care of their husband, and giving birth to his children… that is all." - Rick Santorum

We can't let him hide his insanity, even though it would be amusing to watch and make it an easy-peasy dem win.
