Rick Perry believes the best way to avoid a war and to counter radical Islamists is to “rebuild” the nation’s military.
The potential Republican presidential candidate said the rise of terrorist groups in the Middle East, along with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s annexation of Crimea, took place as the United States reduced its military spending.
Those developments also took place — Perry argued during an appearance in Council Bluffs — as Democratic President Barack Obama adopted a “hands off” approach to foreign policy.
“This administration is taking money away from our military and spending it in other places. But it doesn’t have to be that way. This is a great, resilient country,” the former Texas governor said.

For instance, the Iraq War has cost so far $4.4 trillion and that doesn't include VA costs for vets who need med care for the rest of their lives. But this dimwit thinks we can go on more ME military adventures without even a slight raise in taxes (on the rich).
