Fired for ‘being too nice’: Tenants at luxurious NY tower rally behind sacked doorman

Source: RT

A concierge who “devoted his life” to helping his tenants at a luxury New York high-rise has been fired for – quote – being too nice. The tenants are reportedly rallying behind Ralph Body and have signed a petition to get the dream doorman reinstated.

The 41-year-old had been a concierge at the famous Queens Tower 27 ever since it opened two years ago. According to the New York Post, he always tried to make people feel pampered and responded to their every request, many of which strayed outside the responsibilities outlined in his job spec. It included everything from helping tenants with bags to taking care of their pets, even showing apartments to new tenants.

“Everything I did, somebody asked me to do, or there was a need for it,” Body told The New York Post.

Last Sunday, management, as quoted by Body, told him “We know you did it for the right reasons, but unfortunately… you’re too nice to the tenants.”

1. Why is Russian propaganda doing NYC doorman stories?

That's weird on its own. But setting that aside, part of what makes a NYC building truly luxurious is high quality doormen.

Even if he doesn't get to stay at this building, he'll probably get a shot at other high end buildings.

Weird story.

I guess they felt it was a story their readers would click on. That seems to be the motivation for why most things are posted, anywhere...

Imagine Fox News being the only news in America. Russian media scours our news for stories that make us look bad.

Putin is rebuilding the walls of the Cold War.

because we are a big audience and we have a lot of money.

RT has been going since before we shifted into Cold War 2.0.

I would be curious to see if the tone of their stories on the US has changed along with heightened tensions, but usually, it's stories with conflict or heartbreak that sell from any source.

After 12 years on my co-op board, now a condo board, I can attest that the most evil and self-dealing types are attracted to the unleashed power they can exert over humans in these situations. I am currently suing the fascists in my community for their abuse of power.

And the professional management companies! O, the stories I could tell! Thing is, when you go self-managed, the fascists have free rein...

And if this one was, why was he not part of it? Or why didn't his union defend him? That's what they are supposed to do.

I mean, if the facts are as the story portrays (and of course, one of the sources is the laughably stupid New York Post).

do not find it any more biased than much of the US MSM; and
a whole lot less biased than FOX.
CCTV (Chinese state TV), France 24, and Deutsche Welle
are also all worth a look.

It's amazing how bad US commercial TV has become.

But you'll get a lot of immature duuuudes that roll their eyes at that.

Once again its the messenger that is more important than the story for some. OF COURSE RT will highlight stories that reflect negatively on the US, just as American MSM will run stories negative of Russia. It doesn't make them any less true!

Seriously its like some are still children and want to just watch through their red, white, and blue glasses where they search for any excuse not to have to listen to any negative story...because, like Fox News says, then you are an America-hater.

I don't think you're watching very carefully!

Using Fox or other corporate media as a "standard" doesn't help your assertion much, either. Pretty much most media is biased--RT is simply biased to always, always show Fearless Bear Rider and Fish Kisser in a saintly light. It's hilarious in that regard. It's why they have no credibility.
