Sarah Brady, Widow of Former White House Press Secretary James Brady, Dies at 73

Source: WaPo

Sarah Kemp Brady, the widow of former White House Press Secretary James Brady, died Friday after battling pneumonia, her family said in a statement. She was 73

Sarah Brady became a prominent gun control advocate after her husband was shot during the attempt on then-President Ronald Reagan's life in 1981.

James Brady died in August at age 73.
"Sarah courageously stepped up after Jim was shot to prevent others from enduring what our family has gone through, and her work has saved countless lives," the family's statement read.
"Our nation has lost a great hero, and I have lost a dear friend," Brady Campaign and Center to Prevent Gun Violence President Dan Gross said in a statement. "I am certain that she would want nothing more than to know we are carrying on her and Jim’s legacy with the same fiery compassion and dedication that made her so remarkable."

In 1989, Sarah Brady became affiliated with Handgun Control, Inc., which was renamed the Brady Campaign and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence in 2001. She became chair in 1991.

Since she was Enemy #1 to them and the NRA and the other wack job gun hugging groups like the GOA.

Sure enough, I found these, from that "classy" bunch...

Some people argue a position out of ignorance. I believe she knew what she was doing was corrupt. I think she was corrupt.

She used her husband for nefarious purposes. I don’t shed any tears for her.

Jim Brady,,, a Reagan conservative. Brain damaged by a bullet, wakes up a democrat.

Listen. Here’s the deal.

There’s an old tradition of being polite on obituary threads, except for outright traitors like Ted Kennedy.

She was absolutely anti-constitutional, and luckily most of her life was tasting defeat on the gun control front.

But since she was not (by my definition) an outright traitor — in the T Kennedy / B Obama / V Jarrett / N Pelosi / L Slaughter / H Reid model — I won’t do anything except say “R.I.P.”

My Mom always said if you don’t have anything nice to say about someone, don’t say anything at all. So I won’t.
She's bio-degradable.

Congress needs to re-instate the assault weapons ban. Took 13 years for the Bradys to get the "Brady Bill" passed for handguns, but they did it, and it's past time to get the assault weapons regulated.

Mrs. Brady was a woman who spoke her mind, without insulting everyone who did not agree with her. May she rest in peace. Condolences to the ones she left behind. Brace, articulate lady.

If there is heaven, I hope that your broken heart will mend. The scene of guns in this country is so much worse when you, and your dear husband were dreaming of doing something good.

I opposed you on your stance on gun control, but I did greatly admire you for the woman you were and your dedication to your husband, Jim.
It's time to start your new journey and be with him.
