Pence this morning on Fox and Friends: 'I stand by this law'
Source: Indy Star
Gov. Mike Pence appeared on Fox and Friends Tuesday morning and said lawmakers will clarify Indiana's controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act, but declined to offer specifics.
"I stand by this law," Pence told the morning show anchors. He did not say how the law might be amended or clarified.

Pence repeated on Fox and Friends that he believes the media has mischaracterized the "religious freedom" law, but he said Indiana is "open for business."

"As governor of Indiana, if I were presented a bill that legalized discrimination against any person or group, I would veto it. Indiana's new law contains no reference to sexual orientation. It simply mirrors federal law that President Bill Clinton signed in 1993."

(1,033 posts)100% complete and total lie. Why would he need a law that mirrored federal law anyway?
I assume the cretins at F&F stood up and cheered.

And see what whacky business owners do...let them make the assumption about persons being gay, when they are not...and start talking about it...loudly.
Doesn't this law just let people discriminate against anyone?!? Wouldn't the business have to "prove" that someone is gay, to deny them service?
All this hoping that they can get their ass sued because people that wanted service weren't gay and were simply discriminated against.

(2,157 posts)While also stating that he believes that gays & lesbians deserve the same rights and opportunities that all Americans have.
He went onto state that he would not tolerate any form of discrimination against anyone in the state of Indiana.
I know first hand that we have been having huge turnouts at our anti- discrimination rallies in downtown Indianapolis, & after the NCAA Basketball game is over the crowds get even larger.
Additionally at least 9 major businesses or corporations have declared their intention to either move their businesses out of state or to withdrawal their commitments to build businesses and create jobs in the state of Indiana if Religious Freedom Restoration Act is not obolished.
So why the sudden change of heart Governor Pence? Was it because of the anti- discrimination rallies across not only the state but the nation as well? Or Was it because of the companies threatening to move their businesses elsewhere if the law wasn't repealed? Or perhaps it may have been the amount of negative publicity as you prepare to announce your candidacy for President in 2016?
