Body of David Bird, Missing Wall Street Journal Reporter, Is Found
Source: NY Times
A body pulled from the Passaic River in New Jersey this week was identified on Thursday as that of a Wall Street Journal reporter who disappeared in January 2014 while out walking near his home, officials said.
The identification of the reporter, David Bird, ended a missing-persons case that stretched for more than a year, spawned several theories about Mr. Birds disappearance and led to the creation of a web page, www.finddavidbird.info, devoted to his safe return.
Still unknown, however, was how Mr. Bird died, precisely when, and whether the authorities believe foul play was involved.
Those are among the good questions that relatives of Mr. Bird, including his widow, Nancy, would, like answers to as well, Heide Alexander, the administrator of the website, said in an email.

(60,010 posts)because it was said he was investigating a story about the banks, and he disappeared at the same time as a spate of banker deaths.

(63,912 posts)I didn't want to look like I was putting two and two together and coming up with five because I didn't know about the Dead Bankers List. But this just reeks of a "hit" job on a writer telling the truth. I wonder who had him "offed."
