Layoffs, including Omaha area job cuts, mar Yahoo's 20th anniversary

Yahoo is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month, but companywide layoffs, including job cuts in the Omaha metro area, have cast a pall over recent celebrations.
The global technology firm, which employs about 350 people in the area, laid off 20 to 30 employees Tuesday at its La Vista customer service center near 108th Street and Giles Road the whole customer service team, said a former Yahoo employee who was among those laid off and spoke on the condition of anonymity..
Elisa Shyu, a Yahoo spokeswoman, confirmed that there have been Omaha-area layoffs but would not elaborate.
There were warning signs, red flags, the former employee said. Last week they laid off a whole team in Omaha, referring to Yahoos Global Operations Center near 144th Street and West Dodge Road.

They don't want to talk about company wide layoffs so the stock price doesn't take a hit.
