SeaWorld Orlando sends employees to help with sea lion rescue

Source: Orlando Sentinel

By Sandra Pedicini

SeaWorld Orlando employees have gone to San Diego to help their sister park with a large sea lion rescue.

SeaWorld San Diego over the weekend suspended its sea lion and otter show to allow caretakers there to help rescue and rehabilitate young sea lions beaching in Southern California.

Zoological workers from SeaWorld San Antonio, Discovery Cove and Busch Gardens Tampa - which SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. owns - have also flown out to help.

"SeaWorld’s entire zoological staff is working tirelessly to save the lives (of) these emaciated and ill animals," the company said in a press release.

you dont accumulate the knowledge or have the capacity to do something like this by filming and following. you learn this stuff by living with animals.
they are the new arks. we will need them more and more.

and we also need them because we need to have these animals in our lives. real, actual animals. we are creatures of the earth, too. we are deeply driven to be a part of it all.
