Congressman lashes out at members urging wolf protections
By BECKY BOHRER, Associated Press | March 5, 2015
JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) U.S. Rep. Don Young lashed out at congressional members who urged continued protections for the gray wolf in parts of the Lower 48, saying none is from a district affected by wolves.
He said during a hearing in Washington, D.C., that he would like to introduce wolves in their districts: "I'd introduce 'em in your district, you wouldn't have a homeless problem anymore."
Spokesman Matt Shuckerow said Young's comments weren't related to addressing homeless populations. He said they were hyperbolic and meant to show wolves pose a threat to wildlife management and have damaging effects on communities.
Young earlier voiced frustration with a lack of consultation with the state and Native groups on issues.

(70,614 posts).... biologist from Yellowstone Park about the wolves was amazing.
It seems that w/the elk no longer camped out along the streams and rivers the
aspen groves grew back which in turn helped to shade the water and dropped
insects to the native trout and the trout started doing better and then the
grizzly bears had less problems w/humans because they were eating the trout
and staying out of the way of "the humans."
I have hunted and done outdoor stuff for years but these assholes who want to kill
wolves just because they can really pisses me off. F'ing stupid and proud of it too.

I'd love to see him try to take that animal down with a spear or something early humans used. Alone. By his no big dick rifle self alone.

(509 posts)A lot more elk than deer in Yellowstone and Grand Teton. I was reading an article that was attempting to explain why the elk population was dropping and after a lot of study it seems like the wolves are not really to blame. Lots of different factors it turns out but drought seems to be the biggest factor. No matter, it is good to see wolves back in the ecosystem.

How do people so fatuous make it to such high offices?

Not sure how someone this stupid gets elected to office, doesn't say much for Alaska voters.
