(105 posts)Putin has his name written all over this. He's a bully and a coward all at the same time. KGB aint gone nowhere with this freak around.

(14,881 posts)To me, it looks more like it was done by an enemy of Putin to cause him problems. Putin could have had him assassinated in a way to make it look like an accident or suicide. It seems unlikely he would do it in broad daylight right at his own doorstep, so to speak.

(14,881 posts)He has plenty of enemies, including those who would like to see a "Russian Spring" and would do anything to further destabilize Russia.
And certainly he would have known of the likely outcome, what with 10s of thousands rallying today.
Even former President Gorbachev believes it was an attempt to destabilize Russia. Not that any other governments would ever try to do something like to any other countries...oh, wait a minute.

(3,714 posts)MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Ukraines foreign ministry has referred to the Russian authorities a note with a request to let Anna Duritskaya, a Ukrainian national who was a witness of Boris Nemtsovs murder, leave for Ukraine, Gennady Breskalenko, adviser on consular issues of the Ukrainian embassy to Russia, said on Sunday.
"A relevant note requests her letting go to Ukraine," he told the Ekhvo Moskcy radio station.
Nemtsov, 55, was shot dead while walking along the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge overnight to Saturday. Duritskaya was accompanying him at the moment.
Russias Investigations Committee said earlier of Sunday addition investigatory actions would be conducted with Duritskaya, who was an eyewitness of the assassination.
According to media reports, Duritskaya has refused from the witness security programme and wants to return to Ukraine.

So, by all accounts, she's an important witness, and Ukraine asks that she be allowed to leave? Don't they even suspect that such a request will raise major suspicions?

(17,960 posts)... kelptocracy, plutocracy...sans the politically motivated murders, I don't see much difference between them and us. After nearly 50 years of Cold War, we find ourselves damn near in the same spot.
