Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz says her office never offered to flip stance on medical marijuana

Miami Herald

U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston on Friday denied a published report that her office had offered this week to change her position on medical marijuana if a major Democratic donor recanted his withering criticism of her.

Wasserman Schultz's office had told Orlando trial lawyer John Morgan to retract critical statements he made to a reporter in return for the Democratic National Committee chairwoman publicly backing his ballot initiative to legalize medical pot, according to a story published late Thursday by Politico. Wasserman Schultz is said to be considering a U.S. Senate run, should Republican Marco Rubio leave to mount a presidential bid.

Morgan, the architect of Charlie Crist's gubernatorial bid last year, declined the offer with a sharp email sent to a middleman who described Wasserman Schultz as being in a "tizzy," Politico reported.

"No," Morgan responded. "She is a bully. I beat bullies up for a living."

On Friday, the congresswoman told the Sun-Sentinel that the allegation is "outrageous."

So New Dem Debbie wants to run for the Senate! She'll join a long list of loser insiders that the FDP chooses to run in statewide elections.

If you really want to take back the Senate, Debbie, stay out. And give up your congressional seat too. And take Allison Tain't Nuthin' But a Re-packaged Republican with you.

Morgan is the source, Politico is playing their usual role as stenographer. Their stenography is fairly reliable, for what it's worth.

"The back-and-forth began when Wasserman Schultz started flirting with running for U.S. Senate, if Republican Marco Rubio doesn't seek reelection".

Typical DWS. A few years ago, she refused to support or endorse Democrats who were running against incumbent, extremist Republicans, such as Diaz-Ballart brothers, because, "they're my friends".
Maybe her "friend" Marco will seek re-election, and she'll run for the house again instead.

And she also refused to support progressive Democrats around the state. In fact, in the old District 5 US House race she praised Ginny Brown-Waite (R-5) to the point just short of saying "I endorse".

How this back-stabbing incompetent bozo ever got named DNC Chair is beyond me. Just one more reason I resigned from my DEC and the Party later on.

But, I don't get to vote in Florida, so it doesn't really matter what I think of her.

Yep, it did. I said nothing about her current position. All I said about Fla is- I can't vote there so it really doesn't matter what I think.

How did you get that I was blaming Fla for something out of that?

Her running for the Senate pretty much guarantees a R victory.
