Experts: NKorea missile carrier likely from China

Source: Associated Press

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) -- The enormous, 16-wheel truck that North Korea used to carry a missile during a recent parade likely came from China in a possible violation of UN sanctions meant to rein in Pyongyang's missile program, experts say.

The carrier, also believed capable of launching missiles, caught the eye of experts during last Sunday's military show in Pyongyang because it was the biggest carrier yet displayed by North Korea and gives the country- truculently at odds with the U.S., Japan and South Korea - the ability to transport long-range missiles around its territory, making them harder to locate and destroy.

The large size of the vehicle "represents a quantum leap forward" for the North Koreans, said Wendell Minnick, a reporter on Asian military developments for Defense News, a Washington-based publication.

Unlikely to have been made by North Korea because of its technical sophistication, experts said the design of the vehicle shows that China is the probable source. Pinning a sanctions-busting charge on Beijing would be difficult, however, because it would be hard to prove that Beijing provided the technology for military purposes or even that it sold the vehicle directly to North Korea, the experts said.

As long as they doesn't have the ability to get the missile going, and into orbit - I'm not to worried about a big truck carrying the missiles.. But yes, it is indeed a worry to be recognized with. The fact that NK can have a missile carrier, who could be used to hide a missile around the country is absolutely a dangerous move.. But the russians also had with their missile carriers, the possibility to lunch on a short notice. Something that for decades worried NATO and US experts, as that means it would take a shorter time to respond to a potential first attack from USSR... Thankfully it never happened.. the leadership in USSR was level handled enough to understand that it would be the end of everything if they lunched an attack on USA or NATO...

But, this equipment in the hands of North-Korea on the other hand... Another story, as NK is far more ruthless than USSR ever was - at least after Stalin, and also far more desperate and willing to chance the game.. After all, they lost a lot of food supplies because of a failed missile test..And have treated to "retaliate" because of the US unwillingness to continue giving so needed food supplies to the people of NK.. And maybe more important to the military who would receive the leon share of the food, regardless of what they claim to the UN and US... It have been reported of hunger even inside the military ranks the last couple of years.. Something that is NOT a good thing in a country so desperate as North Korea... North Korea is a country, where you just doesn't know what will do next...

But as is point out, it will be difficult to pin this on China, as NK could have worked on it, for ages too... But the likely source is indeed China... But what could we in the west do, China is no North Korea, it is a big, powerfully nation where we buy most of our goods this days...

Look, the mark of being a superpower is having a client state that can do no wrong, because they can hide under your wings. With America,it is Israel, with the Russians, it is Serbia, and the Chinese have North Korea. Now, this does not have one thing to do with the wishes of most people, just like we get sick of Israel trying to manipulate us (like the way they are planning the war in Iran to be around our elections.) and many Russians were disgusted by the Serbians, many Chinese are fed up with North Korea.

Of course, the client states grab the hold on their "friend" by appealing to the past, a past which is dead, but still potent enough to where said nation will feel that they will forfeit a bit of their soul, of course, that is another way of saying both nations refuse to let the other grow up, especially the little client that gets to spend big brother's checks.

We are continually getting manipulated by Israel. The more we give in, the more they pull our strings. I believe they are just waiting for the right moment to start a war and give us no choice but to step in.

Part of you recognises the problem (the unaffordable expense, the unpleasant
side-effects, the sheer self-destructive toxicity of the "drug&quot but it is constantly
over-ridden by the part of you that simply wants the illusion of past pleasures
to continue.

They also deport (repatriate) North Koreans back to their country which is a death sentence. North Korea couldn't put two toothpicks together t make something unless they had help. It wouldn't surprise me if the Russians were still involved as well.

Because the last thing they want is a Kim deciding it is high time to start wwIII, and they know Kim will do it,especially if he can find a way to turn China's economic miracle against itself. If and when the Chinese have a few bad years, there will be a call for the old style of Maoism, which Kim can pluck.
