Adrian Peterson makes his case against NFL suspension

Source: Star Tribune

by: KELLY SMITH

Adrian Peterson’s suspension from the NFL was the focus of attorneys’ arguments Friday afternoon in a Minneapolis courtroom.

Adrian Peterson and his wife, Ashley, were present in the packed courtroom at U.S. District Court in downtown Minneapolis for the hearing, which lasted just over an hour. The hearing marked the first time attorneys for the NFL and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA), which is suing on behalf of Peterson, made their case in person to U.S. District Judge David Doty. The players’ union asked Doty to overturn the suspension the NFL handed down to the Vikings running back nearly three months ago — a decision an arbitrator later upheld.

At the hearing’s end, Doty said he’d take the issue under advisement. Peterson, who sat through the hearing silent and expressionless, seemed pleased afterward.

“I feel good. I felt like I got a fair game,” he said to reporters. Asked if he would like to stay with the Vikings, he said, “Of course.”

I don't mind if he plays football, so long as he stays far away from the child. LiberalAndProud Feb 2015 #1
