Ann Rylee was curled up on her recliner, drifting back to sleep after seeing her fiance off to work, when a commotion startled her.

Outside in the predawn dark, authorities from local and federal law enforcement agencies had surrounded the 20-year-old’s home in rural Wilmer, Ala. They were looking for her fiance’s uncle, who had outstanding warrants, according to police.

I found myself thinking as I read the story “what a long story! Wow. They say she had a gun, but didn’t mention that until several paragraphs into the story...” after reading, i thought, oh, I bet she’s white. Because you know, they don’t usually make the victim of a police shooting so sympathetic.

Glad she is recovering fully. 👍 poor thing. One article said she is only 19.
