during the mid-terms, too!

Our Dems get replaced at mid-terms by republicans because those morons KNOW to vote every frikkin' election, not just the Presidential Elections...

ARE enough Dems in the Senate to endlessly filibuster legislation - when the republicans were the minority in the Senate in the early 2000s until 2010, they obstructed ALL Democratic legislation by filibustering EVERYTHING! You only needed 40 Senators to filibuster and I think there were 42 republicans.

in the 90s. In the old days, (early 90s), the Speaker and senate Leader would make time for both Houses to read, debate and fully understand the legislation before it was put to a vote!

But now that the republicans know they have enough votes (without the Dems in the Congress and Senate) to pass ANY legislation, they don't even need the Dems to participate in crafting/writing legislation.

The republicans are in a hurry and want to push this tax bill thru for the following reasons: 1] they want to pass it before they can get buyer's remorse/cold feet, 2] they want to pass it before the end of the year so they can tell their constituents that they got something done, 3] they want to put the bill on Trump's desk before he is skull-dragged while hand-cuffed from the Oval Office, 4] they want to put the bill on Trump's desk and get it signed before Dems and citizens can start asking if a President that is under criminal investigation be allowed to SIGN legislation...

I'm sure there treasonous republicans have other reason for rushing this POS legislation thru but those are the only ones I could think of off the top of my head!

which jettisons the filibuster/cloture rules, the GOP basically shuts down the minority... although they are barely in the majority themselves and were unable to pass the direct repeal of the ACA using that tactic. HOWEVER that tool can only be used 3 times a year on different types of bills and everything else that has been detrimental (at least what little they have worked on this year, but not counting confirmations where the 60 vote rule was thrown out) HAS BEEN blocked and stalled by Democrats.
