‘Blood will be on their hands’: Morning Joe says Fox News ‘coup’ talk could inspire the next Timothy McVeigh

Timothy McVeigh Oklahoma City Bomber

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough spent a good deal of his program Monday morning blasting Fox News for stoking violence with “coup” talk — but he blamed Glenn Beck for turning the network in a darkly conspiratorial direction.

The “Morning Joe” host called out the competition at the start of the program, accusing the network of pushing a constitutional crisis that could provoke violent reaction, and he later returned to the topic.

“It’s very dangerous, because blood will be on the hands of people that whip people into a frenzy and lie,” Scarborough said. “But they are saying there’s a coup going on right now, which is one of the most extraordinarily irresponsible things I have heard a major network do. That’s what they have been saying all weekend.”

He said these “irresponsible” reports, which the president helps legitimize, will almost certainly drive someone to take violent action.

The Right Wing wants this type of violence. Rushbo the Pig promoted this type of behavior, as did the NRA (to which Bush the Elder and Reagan turned in their membership cards).

Lawless chaos with the rich, strong and white in 100% control of society.

Trump and the republican party are working for this goal every day.

Fox "news" should be forced off the air and its CEO placed under arrest for fomenting violence and spreading lies.

ISIS has it's preachers of hate that the republicans rail against yet they love their own like Fox "news", preaching violence and lawlessness against America 24/7!

What kind of a country allows this shit to go on? It is having the same effect here as it did in pre nazi Germany.

Every day we inch closer to the abyss because of the hate and lies of Fox and hate radio.

That entire organization is a plague and should be sterilized and discarded into the ashcan of history, soon.

It opened the floodgates of right wing hate and lies into America and now we see the damage.

I don't know if this country will survive it TBH.

They claimed that government was useless and an impediment to freedom. That mindset emboldened people like David Koresh and the anarchists at Ruby Ridge, they were used by McVeigh as heroes and as evidence that the government was out of control. The out of control talk is being done regularly on Fox News when anyone but Trump and corrupt republicans are being discussed.

caused militias and socalled true patriot armed groups to flourish. McVeigh was a young Vet who gravitated to those types after military service. Reagan popularized the notion of overthrow of government if government does not do what "true patriots" want. True patriot is a term that is open to many interpretations, but on the right, it is not someone who believes in inclusiveness and that government is a necessary function in a working society.
