They weren't happy with gutting ACA. NOW, the GOP is going to come after your Medicare

The GOP budget resolution will mean:

*Hundreds of billions in painful cuts to Medicaid, which seniors depend on for long-term care services and supports.

*Reaffirmation of a House rule that puts 11 million Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) beneficiaries at risk of a 7% benefit cut in 2028.

*Reductions to SSI (Supplemental Security Insurance), which provides cash assistance to low-income seniors and people with disabilities.

*Caps on non-defense spending that will likely lead to devastating cuts to Older Americans Act programs and the Social Security Administration (SSA) operating budget.

*Slashing of programs that benefit our nation’s veterans and deep cuts to spending on medical research (including cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and other conditions afflicting the elderly).

... but since the seniors of America and Boomers voted for Trump in BIG numbers there is a very small part of me that feels they deserve it.

They are the ones that crashed the housing market made college unfortunate for many americans drowned my generation in debt and voted for trump because they hate brown people.

After medicare is gutted they will vote for Trump again after the safety net is taken away because they will be given something else to fear.

For the record I support a social safety net that includes affordable healthcare as a right, and after a working life folks should be able to retire with dignity, and that a job should be a ticket out of poverty not a sentence to poverty.

I said it was a very small part of me.

It is not something I actually believe but that very small part of me is there however much I wish it wasn't
