I agree with him. Hear me out. In no way do I believe that Doug Jones is somehow endorsing sexual assualt or endorsing allowing it to happen. But really...at this point what is going to happen with Trump? It is true this all came out pre-election and the assholes still voted (enough) for him to elect him. He isn't going to resign over this. Period. No Congressional investigations will occur with the Repubes in the House and Senate. So really a no-win.
What can win is 2018. I think Doug Jones wants to talk about the other dozens of issues we need to be discussing...education, foreign policy, science, healthcare, etc. We MUST kick ass in 2018 and take the House and possibly the Senate. We must work on state legislatures and gubernatorial races...plus all down tickets.
We can certainly keep hammering Trump on the allegations but it won't do any good at this point. Let's kick Congresses ass to the curb and then we can really do some fun things once we win elections in 2018.

Alabama has a lot of problems, which may seem more important to him than other fights as a first-term Senator.

It is laughable.

(7,421 posts)It's doubtful the state GOP will put up another candidate as bad as Moore. Jones is on borrowed time regardless of what he rationalizes to himself.

(13,390 posts)But his agenda is. It's true that his sexual predatory behavior was litigated last yr and people voted for him. Drawing support away from him based on what he's doing now should be the focus.

(8,745 posts)So, you want to say f**k you to the women who were abused by Trump. I don't think so.

(4,742 posts)And you know that wasn't the point I was making. Either way Trump is going to FU to the woman he assaulted and nothing is going to happen to him. I'd rather focus on bringing down his entire house of cards. Then we all get to give him the biggest FU.

(99,710 posts)The Trump brand with its unique blend of racism, nativism, misogyny, and sexism et cetera is becoming poison in the suburbs. Trump is gauche, declasse , and vulgar. He's the person you least likely invite to your party.

I wouldn't mind a Congressional investigation, tho. Plenty of taxpayer money has been spent on more frivolous subjects.

(54,426 posts)Actually, I don't he has any sense of guilt whatsoever, so he needs to be caught on illegalities committed during the transition or in office. The only ones committed before that would have to financial improprieties. It could still happen. Remember Spiro Agnew.
