Real Truth. GOP Wants To Abolish Social Security?Medicare Immediately. Stop The Checks.

What the GOP really wants to do is stop both programs immediately. Just stop it in its tracks. Either way they will kill it slowly or as quickly as possible. They just want to get rid of seniors who are taking too much. Plus they view those paycheck deductions as money for more tax cuts. There is no commitment to give any senior anything even if they paid for it.

There are two reasons. One is that they frame these programs as welfare for political gain. Secondly, they are telling the younger generation that seniors are stealing your money. Those memes allow them to mislead by saying that these programs will not exist for anyone under 55 by the time they are done.

Fundamentally the GOP believes that health care should be pay as you go and that only the richest should have it like everything else. There is an "entitlement of the rich" mentality within the GOP that will never change as long as they exist. We are seeing their agenda and their plan on steroids right now with this tax scam.

I can remember when I was in my early 20's, co-workers saying SS wouldn't be around for us. The lie that SS is unsustainable has been out there basically since the program started, and if people are willing to believe that it won't be there down the road, then it's real easy to cut it or shut it down entirely.

Another thing to understand is that it is a pay as you go program. The money I paid in when I was young went to people then retired. The money young people currently pay in is going to me and others on SS. But that's not the old stealing from the young. It's how it works. Meanwhile I wonder how much money, how many billions of dollars go into black box programs (or whatever they're called) that aren't even shown in the budget. Or military spending. Or all of the profits so many companies make that go totally untaxed even before this new tax bill.
