Check in if you have called your senator and/or congress member about the tax bill

Especially if they are Repubs.

I have Grassley and Ernst as senators. Have been calling daily. Today I called their local offices for a change of pace.
I know it is like beating my head against a wall as both are bought and paid for by corporate America. In Ernst's case, she is the apple of Charles and David's eyes.
But I call anyway just to let them know we are out here and not going away.

I have more contact with them than I do with my family anymore it seems.

As for a rep, I am in the only democratic district in Iowa. I don't call Loebsack as frequently but did on this one just to let him know we have his back.

my rep is a very slick asskisser who already knows we hate him-- there is nothing he can do to get our vote, so he won't. It's pretty well up to his R constituency to rein him in.

We do, however, publicly and loudly protest.

... stressing that the tax "bill" (not "cut"!) would explode the deficit and national debt.

I figure he doesn't care about children's health care or student tuition, but supposedly he cares about the debt.

Fruitless-- he's a nasty little GOP hack-- but at least I'll register my objection.

...toned down from our true stance so that it's heard rather than dismissed:

We are long time OC residents in the 48th, with grown kids lucky to have been raised in OC but now living elsewhere. All four of us are responsible tax payers in CA. My wife and I understand enough about the current tax plan to see that it fails to deliver for most americans and will likely create more problems that it solves. We object to the process and the content and IMPLORE YOU AS OUR REPRESENTATIVE TO DO WHAT'S RIGHT AND VOTE AGAINST THIS AND SIMILAR PLANS. We will work in OC for our congressional representatives which vote against such a horrendous swindle...and will work against those that vote for it. Thank you

Our current rep is one of the worst....and will likely be unseated. Because of the challenge, hopefully he can see that no CA rep should be voting for this

but Corker has flipped, Rubio has probably been bought off. Collins - don't know.

McCain may be in the hospital for a while....
