(4,492 posts)There was a professional light display at the PNC Bank Arts Center (seasonal outdoor venue for concerts, etc). They charge around $20 a car.
One year, you could see the whole display from the Garden State Parkway.

Now they are in Seattle where its lit up all the time

(1,148 posts)And one of my favorite childhood Christmas memories was driving by this house that was REALLY done up, with moving snowmen, Santa and a sleigh on the roof...you could see it from the interstate.
I'm sure they've moved away, but I miss driving around neighborhoods to see homes that were really decked out.

(9,186 posts)It's only about 2 blocks long -- one block west of Beaver Avenue, and a long block to the east. On the east side there is a street called Wallace Lane that forms a loop with Ashby. ALL of the houses are lighted spectacularly, but tastefully. i knew an attorney who lived on Ashby several years ago, and he confirmed that there are covenants in the deeds requiring the owners to decorate for the holidays.
I drive by it every night on my way home.
