General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsGuess: It's not Jared, it's Jr.
I think the case against Jr. is stronger:
- Jr. met with russian lawyer Veselnitskaya, seeking dirt about Hillary Clinton.
Translation: He tried to solicit foreign support for an electoral campaign. And that is illegal.
- Jr. received unsolicited help for the electoral campaign from Wikileaks, which is a stateless entity, hosted on servers in Moscow by the well-known russian cyber-criminal Peter Chayanov.
Translation: He received unsolicited support for an electoral campaign from a foreign entity. If Mueller can prove that he used that support, that's a crime as well.
EDIT:
It's not sexy. It doesn't link Trump to Russia. But it can send somebody to jail.

(13,496 posts)There isn't a bigger douchebro out there than Jr. I'd love to see that smug smile wiped off his face.
(Jared being indicted would be fine with me. I just think Jr. would be way more satisfying.)

(2,073 posts)Asking Kislyak for a secure communication line with Russia doesn't look good on Jared, plus the "errors" on his security clearance application are rather odd.
I think the grift and con game comes so naturally to these people that they never considered that it's actually illegal.

(15,543 posts)The repubes use their a-hole gang sign a lot when they are attacking America. It immediately identifies them to their fellow-traveling comrades as "Agents of A-holery."

(2,008 posts)Does indicting Don Jr. more strongly lure Trump into protective pardoning? If Mueller's end game is impeachment (i.e. political), luring Trump into pardoning his namesake might incite more political pressure on recalcitrant congressional repugs.

(43,184 posts)Unless Junior harbors one hell of a grudge against his dad (which if the rumors of how his dad treated him while he was at college were true, it's slightly possible.)
Cutting ties against your in-laws is somewhat easier than cutting ties against your own blood relatives.
