Hannity talked with the former Navy SEAL and Federal Air Marshal about how people can avoid terror attacks, he but seemed to blame the victims more than any perpetrators. While discussing the mass shooting in Las Vegas, the nation's deadliest on record committed by a single person, Gilliam argued that people should have had a plan to avoid impending danger.

"They [gazelles] know how to act, not just react," Gilliam said. "They know where the bad guy is going to come from, and that's why they're constantly looking, observing and then if something happens, they react."

See? It's so simple. Just expect that a mass-shooter will shoot you any place, any time, and he can no longer surprise you!

All you need is contingency-plans for whenever and wherever you are, constantly scanning your surroundings for attackers and being on the edge at all times.

1. Then Why Do Soldiers Get Killed, Gilliam?

They are trained to be in these situations, they know where the bad guys are, they constantly are looking, observing and then something happens and they get dead.

Is Gilliam saying that the soldiers are incompetent? Are they inadequately trained? (If so, what makes him so special?) Are they oblivious to the threats?

Can't have it both ways, Gilliam.

People who are prepared get killed too.

2. It's just common sense

We all practice, or we should practice, defensive driving techniques while on the highway. I don't think there's a single one of us who says they are in constant fear while driving.

We all, or we should, have a emergency egress plan in place in case of a home fire and we ought to practice that plan.

When flying, we all know or should know where the exits are and what steps to take in case of an emergency. There are some who are afraid of flying but the vast majority of us don't give it a second thought.

Being vigilant and having a plan is not the same thing as living in perpetual horror and fear.

5. You missed the point of this.

This is not about knowing how to behave in certain situations.

This is about actively expecting mass-shooters whenever and wherever you are. This is planning your whole life around the risk that you might run into a mass-shooter.

You have to be constantly vigilant for the bullet, or hang around in herds so others can watch for the bullet when you can't.
