1. This is not going to work.

Do they really think Trump will resign? If this was the strategic thinking behind pressuring Franken to resign then they miscalculated. Also, what good would Trump resigning do? Having Trump in the White House will help us in 2018 and 2020. If Trump leaves we get Very Serious Republican Mike Pence who supports most of Trump's terrible policies but (as far as I know) is scandal free and will be praised by the media as a reasonable and respectable Republican. Paul Ryan and the entire Republican establishment are probably hoping that Trump resigns for this very reason.

Bernie and allies are wrong here, big time.
