We weren't getting through 2 years of complete GOP control without some losses. Let's make sure it's not 4.

I think Rand Paul said he wouldn't vote on a bill that increases the deficit. But it's Rand Paul, so he may have changed his mind already.

they still have to sell it to the rest of the republican senators.

republican house members, too, but they're more likely to have a challenge convincing the last few republicans as they can't afford many defections (2 senators currently; only 1 once they seat jones).

Leadership may have reached an agreement but a few senators may back out. They see the handwriting on the wall and know they are screwed if they are seen as too closely aligned with Trump.

it, and in fact may pay significantly more taxes since they have removed the personal exemption

Those in states with property taxes exceeding 10K, and high state income taxes will have their higher taxes amplified.

If they have reached an agreement, I assume they have put back the ACA mandate, since that was a requirement from Collins

Not sure how solid Corkers vote is since he indicated any bill that increased the deficit, he would not vote for, so one has to wonder which safety net program they decided to slash

This is not going to be pretty

Our government has been hijacked by people who think government should only serve them. Of all of them, I hate McConnell the most.

Seeing a Dem elected state-wide in AL had to be a slap in the face.

Reminds me of a quote I heard recently from an interview with Ian Hamilton, the Scottish patriot that stole the Stone of Destiny in 1950. He was discussing the reaction in Parliament after the theft was discovered, "a shiver ran through the seats of Parliament looking for a spine". There is a shiver now running through the GOP caucus in search of a spine.
