Bannon had the Russian bots fully behind Roy Moore. Trump fully endorsed him as did many members of Congress. The voters sent him packing.
You can say what you want, but this is Alabama, the child molester issue did cost him the election, but even without that it would have been a narrow win for Moore...in Alabama.
Bannon wanted to use this as a platform to launch himself as the Kingmaker. If the voter machines were compromised by the Russians, Bannon surely would have had them flip this election, especially after Trump got behind this.
Does last night's result restore some of your faith in our elections?
It does to me, and I think it can go a long way towards lessening some of the voter apathy that our party is experiencing. This is a big deal if it can become a rallying point to get people involved. Now is the time to start forming the infrastructure for the ground game that will be needed for a Blue Wave next Fall.

(11,566 posts)It would a mistake to think widespread cheating doesn't still exist in the election process.

(58,656 posts)It took a herculean effort to win by 1%. Sure, it's Alabama, but it was reportedly far too hard for many people to vote.

(6,137 posts)if the reddest of red states like alabama couldnt cheat this election then I beleive elections are still accurate. Voter suppression efforts also werent effective enough. Last night was the best political news in over a year. It demonstrates to everyone that there is no such thing as red or blue state, it all depends on turn out. Voters should feel energized going into 2018, every rep seat can be flipped with big enough turnout. The time to start mass registration drive is now.

(9,527 posts)Republicans use suppression techniques. There are no actual votes changed. That's no more or less true today than it was last week.
