News Flash: Franken has only announced that he would resign, not that he resigned.

change in politics all the time. Gov Dayton has done well in MN and I trust his judgement.

I imagine Tina Smith is a lovely, talented, and capable person. But I don't know, and that's the problem. She is a virtual unknown to us Minnesota voters, and she has no real experience at all in running a campaign. That means a huge uphill battle for her election eleven months from now.

A Democratic senate seat that had been safe until at least 2020 is now wide-open.
