His support - his base is that and his base is made of a lot of minority voters.
If he is an engaged and vocal Senator, he will energize his base.
After this election, after all that Moore is 2/3 of white AL voters STILL voted for Moore. They will not convert.
Therefore, Jones should go all out because it's the right thing to do and because it's also the right thing to do politically.

(37,337 posts)it seems kind of strange that we consider a guy who throws people in jail, a liberal progressive.
On edit: I'm glad he won. Maybe that wasn't clear.

(82,383 posts)Liberal progressives are not people who claim there should be no prosecution of lawbreaking, nor penalties on those found guilty under the system.

(68,582 posts)am glad he did...we need prosecutors to put bad guys in jail...so now what...people who work for banks or Wall Street or Fox new...and prosecutors can't be Democrats? Such purity...such foolishness.

(16,245 posts)I think we can all get behind jailing the bombers of that church. Who had escaped justice for decades because they were protected by other white people. And I'm sure Jones and his family faced the wrath of certain elements in society for going after those folks. That takes courage, which has been in short supply in the Democratic Party since at least the Clinton administration (and probably longer, but I remember that Democrats were mostly spineless in the run up to the Iraq war, for which I will never forgive them).
While I am sure Jones is not perfect (and I sure disagree with some of his tactics in this race), and I do question the recent liberal love for the FBI and law enforcement generally, I think most of us can agree that Jones is a good guy.
