An NPR report explained that every Republican in the state will be forced to fight for their seat for the first time in 25 years. Candidate filing in the Secretary of States office show that a Democrat running in each of the 36 congressional districts in the state. Its a record setting number at a time that President Donald Trump opted to mock those saying theyre in the resistance.
Its a stark contrast from the 2016 election when eight congressional seats held by Republicans went completely uncontested.
We are seeing a groundswell of unusually high support and mobilization among progressive Democrats who are really angered by the Trump administration, said Mark Jones a political science fellow at Rice Universitys Baker Institute.

Texas needs Democratic representation.

May make it difficult to unseat incumbents at some level, but Statewide races could be successful for Democrats.
The State is actually quite purple, but thanks to voter-suppression programs Democrats have struggled.
I left just about a year ago so I've been out of the loop but it's just a matter of time before Texas goes blue for good.
