Could Jones' win make some Reps rethink their support for the tax bill?

since the new Trump tax law would create a lot of stress in 2018 and could be a huge hammer for Dems to use against Republicans might some vulnerable Republicans reconsider supporting it?

Nice thought to consider.

was removed, or that the tax package increased the deficient too much, I think those concerns will be met, and they will quickly sneak in cuts elsewhere, where they hope no one will notice, but they are too deep into this to back down.

I think a lot of ordinary people are going to be very disappointed though, when in 2019 they realize that just how badly they are being screwed by this tax bill.

One group specifically will be a good number of middle class folks who itemize deductions. because they have removed the Personal Exemption. It will also adversely impact states that have high SIT and property tax, because in those states this bill is putting limits on property tax deductions, and elimination of the state income tax deductions
