The last time I cried over an election was Nov. 4, 2008

I cried again tonight. I truly believe this is the start of getting our country back. The reddest state of all showed tonight that not all of our country is as screwed up as our POtuS and Moore and their apologists and enablers.

In 2008 and tonight they were spontaneous, unexpected tears of joy.

Conservative votes depressed and minority vote high - I think this will be the trend going forward! So happy we won in a very red state - VA results were no fluke.

I was in my doctor's office and everyone in the entire 5 story building heard me! This win in Alabama is huge for me, as my daughter is a big Jones volunteer - voted at 7:14 a.m. her time, and spent 2 tanks of gas giving folks rides to the polls.

And called me in tears of joy and no voice left, she'd yelled it out and was down to a whisper, and swears she's sticking with GOTV.

Please pass it on. She is an example of what we all on DU should be doing. I know I'll be working to elect Kirsten Sinema to the U.S. Senate in AZ.

In her teen years it was all "awwww mooooooooooooom". Now it's "Mama, can I pick your brains" stuff. I've been political for so long. She and her circle had an absolute blast with this whole thing - worked butts off, "you have to pick up the kids today" stuff for husbands/boyfriends/girlfriends/cohabs. But damn! THEY DID IT!

I'm so glad she and others worked, and millions have voted in 2017 to turn this damn thing around. We are headed in the right direction.
Just have to keep it going.

I had so many Obama yard signs etc. stolen, our local Dems set me 4 aside each week. I am rabid about my politics and my daughter is pretty much the same; she's seen the damage the Republicans do.

Last night's tears, as well as those I shed in 2008, were completely, wonderfully, joyously different!
