The campaign ran a perfect closing to seal the deal in the last two weeks.

Thanks to Ava DuVernay and even Charles Barkley.

Thanks to the decent people in Alabama who did the right thing and defied the stereotypes.

But Doug Jones was a really brave man. He didn't give up on himself and he stood on his principles -- a pro-choice candidate in a deep-red Southern state. And he won.

Let that sink in.
