This vote boggles my young mind.

I'm 32, so I haven't had that many opportunities to vote, but I always have since I was able. I'm disabled, but I grab my cane and I get to the polls. Feels safer to me to be there, seeing my vote going through, rather than voting by mail.

Every time I've voted, I've seen a reasonable choice to vote for. Even with the Republicans, up until Trump came along, I've at least been able to see why they might reasonably vote for their candidates by their traditional party beliefs.

If there's anything more offensive to me than the politicians who've been committing sexual abuse, it's the sexual abuse of a child. How can this person be on the ballot while such accusations still stand? How can people honestly vote for him?

One voter I saw on MSNBC tonight said that he cast his vote for Moore because he believes everyone deserves their day in court if accused. I fully agree. Until cleared of such heinous accusations, however, I don't believe they should be candidates for positions of great power.

It just makes no sense to me. If the Republicans go for Moore and pull through, it will paint their party as being willing to accept an alleged pedophile for the sake of victory. I think the shame of that act may well catch up with them somehow.

I'm somewhat heartened at this point that the vote among minorities, particularly African Americans, is far above Democratic hopes at this hour. Bigger than it was for Obama, even. Maybe there's still a chance for some sanity, but we won't know until late into the night. It's going to be a narrow back and forth as the results come in, and I wouldn't be surprised if the results are so narrow as to be contested in court either way. That's better than I expected, though. I honestly thought it would be a sweep for Moore because his party appears to not give a damn.

I needed to vent. Whew.

But, not as much now as when the same people elected a sexual predator and criminal to the highest office in the country. Cult mentality is a horrible thing.

I'm 34 and have spent most of of my life growing up in NC. I remember as a kid being shocked how my own state could elect an open racist in Jesse Helms to the senate and this was during the 90s. The South is filled with trash and I have always expected the worst out of the south despite living here.
