Franklin Pierce chose to "affirm" his oath rather than swear it before God.

The world is a complex, evolving entity, and it makes and remakes itself in a constant state of dissatisfaction. If more people understood this simple reality, and better perceived their relationship to it, the world would be a slightly better place.

I suspect such subtleties are beyond the grasp of Ted Crockett's slumping intellect.

This fool's silence at Jake's very correct statement that you don't have to take an oath on a Christian Bible is something truly to behold.

What this clip misses is at the very end of the interview where this fool then pointedly wishes Jake Tapper (who I believe is Jewish) a "Merry Christmas." Not a big deal in most cases, but this moron clearly was upset at being proven wrong and was trying to demonstrate his theocratic view of an "Anglo-Mosaic" society, which I think were his very own words.

Deplorable (and HRC, there's no better word than that for these ignorant folk. You were spot on!)
